I've been gone for a long long time

Hey!
So, I want everybody who reads this journal for bandish purposes to direct their attention this way, please.
If you haven't read
skoosiepants's Bandslash/SGA fusions... um, why not? If it's because you don't really know all that much about Stargate: Atlantis, I promise you, a deep knowledge of the show's canon isn't necessary, like, at all. Hell, I stopped watching about halfway through S3, because I couldn't get my downloaded episodes shared viewings to work. And what little you do need to know, it's easy enough to find out from context in the story. Seriously, you do not have to have the Stargate Wiki open in another tab to enjoy these stories.
In light of the fact that I think everyone on the planet, plus their assorted pets, needs to read this series, I present to you a series of recs, starting with:
This one. Supersaturation is the first story in this universe, and features Panic! at the Disco as a gate team under the guidance of one Lieutenant Spencer Smith, USAF. In this story, Skoosie tackles the brave undertaking of including as many Stargate fannish tropes as possible; she hits
* body-switching,
* off-world marriage ritual, &
* hallucinogenic pebbles.
Next up, we have Solvation, where we see her knock out
* aliens made them do it,
* hive ship survival, &
* amnesia.
Brendon Urie has hidden depths, you guys--so do all of these people in this universe, but the story mostly features Brendon, some Bob Bryar, and a lot of Spencer, Ryan, and Jon.
The next two stories feature Frank and Gerard pretty heavily. Enthalpy, the first one, features Frank getting caught on the wrong side of a quantum mirror: And, hey, it wasn't like Frank was trapped in an alternate universe where it was scientifically impossible for him to exist in two places at the same time, so his body could, like, start killing itself at any fucking moment. Oh. Wait. It's... beautiful, guys, seriously.
Entropy features more quantum mirror shenanigans, and is just... wow. What might have been, you know? This is what happens when you take a story where a=x+b, then switch it around so that a+b=c. A and B are still there, but the outcomes are entirely different because of that variable. It's good storytelling, and a good mix of drama and comedy, and it's just a good fic, period. (Bonus! You can also read an excerpt from their pre-SGC days here. Consider it a gift.)
Finally, we get to the reason I wanted to make this post in the first place. I'm naturally inclined to let people find this stuff on their own, because my favorite things are not always everyone else's favorite things, but in this case I couldn't not share this with you guys.
Sublimation. It's heavily William-focused, and has quite a few more favorites--team Panic! is back, as are Frank and Gerard, Bob, Joe, Gabe, and even that rat bastard Lacey (which is possibly my favorite description of Jesse Lacey EVER. Not that I have anything against Jesse Lacey, you understand). Greta, the Butcher, Sisky Business, and VickyT make appearances as well (some more than others).
If you read the author's notes, you'll notice that I betaed Sublimation. However, all the awesomeness is completely Skoosie's; I mostly just flailed and squeed and said, Oh, Gerard a lot where relevant. And here's something you have to understand: When she sent the original file to me, it was 245KB of fic; the story was something like 18000 words. That's almost a Big Bang fic in and of itself. And a lot of times, when I agree to beta something and the author sends me a file that big, I groan to myself and gird my loins; it's usually a struggle to wade through something that long, editing as I go. With Sublimation? It was nothing like that. I made noises only bats and particularly sensitive dolphins could hear, I flew through my first reading, and had to force myself to look for things to critique. When I hit the end, I was almost devastated that it was over. This is a story that you should read at least once, and then again and again and again. She tackles the given premise: age regression on an alien planet, and then sends you on a ride through almost 20K words where we see our favorite band boys (and girl!) turned into teenagers again, with all their adult thoughts and feelings still intact. It's funny and sharp, and it's sensitive and smart and a little silly and a lot more other good words that start with 'S'. I adored having a part in bringing this fic to the internet; now I'm taking a bigger part and asking you to read this story, because I sincerely believe that it is AMAZING.
ETA!: And now, there's a new installation of this series--Cab Babies In Space! (aka Allotropy1, 2)
I started to read The Cab fic just so I could understand this story, people. It's just that good, and I love this universe that much. Alex, Alex, Alex, Ian, and Cash are all intrepid (and in some cases, petrified) space explorers. Ashlee Simpson is there! Greta is there! All of the Alexes are there!! Johnson fucking bathes in sugar and goodness, okay, and Singer gets turned into giant wildcat by a tribe of wild women. This story is awesome beyond all reason. You should read it now.

2I found allotropy by Googling "chemistry terms" because
skoosiepants made a post about needing a title, and I get all weird when I can't beta something for an author I've betaed for before, and so I wanted to help. I know nothing about chemistry.
So, I want everybody who reads this journal for bandish purposes to direct their attention this way, please.
If you haven't read
